Can you spare an hour for the Great Daffodil Appeal?

Before we put the kettle on for this year's Blooming Great Tea Party, we wanted to see if you had an hour to spare in between practicing your Victoria Sponge recipes to help us with the Great Daffodil Appeal.

Every March the Great Daffodil Appeal aims to raise as much money as possible by getting everyone in the UK to wear a daffodil. Last year an amazing £5.7 million was raised, allowing Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses and their families.

This year we want to raise even more and we urgently need volunteers to collect donations.

If you have an hour to spare or even two, please sign up to volunteer as a street collector in your local area and help get as many people as possible wearing daffodils this March. Looking forward to seeing you soon for tea.

Patrick's Story

Patrick Mitchell's mother was 84 when she was told she had terminal lung cancer. Our Marie Curie Nurses made sure she could spend her final days where she wanted - in her own home.

Patrick says: "I'd already lost my dad to throat cancer in 1986. So as soon as I found out about Mum's illness, I took three months off my work as a psychiatric nurse to look after her with my brothers and sisters."
